Wheeled Excavator Tyres

Grip, stability and puncture resistance for wheeled excavators.

Wheeled excavator

The tyre decides how hard your excavator can work

A wheeled excavator spends all day under changing forces: slewing with a full bucket, lateral loading while digging, driving over rubble and sharp material. The tyre has to absorb that with grip, stability and above all resistance to cuts and punctures. Every unexpected flat means downtime on site, and downtime costs money.

HBI Tyres & Wheels supplies excavator tyres that combine grip, stability and puncture resistance, from the Delcora house brand to Bandenmarkt heavy duty. Steel belted constructions, strong sidewalls and self-cleaning patterns keep your wheeled excavator available, even on the toughest ground.

HBI supplies excavator tyres to earthmoving contractors, rental companies and builders across north-west Europe. We know the machines and the conditions they work in, and deliberately choose constructions that can handle the harshest sites. With Delcora and Bandenmarkt we offer a suitable, puncture resistant solution for virtually every wheeled excavator.

Stability while digging and slewing

Stability while digging and slewing

Digging puts large lateral forces on the tyres. A wide footprint and a sturdy construction keep the machine stable, even with a full bucket at reach.

That stability translates into more accurate work and less sway while slewing.

  • Wide footprint for maximum stability
  • Strong sidewall against lateral forces
  • Accurate work with a full bucket

Resistant to cuts and punctures

On site there is rubble, steel and sharp material. Our excavator tyres have a puncture resistant tread and a strong sidewall, so you stand still less often because of a flat.

Steel belted constructions increase resistance to penetration and extend service life.

  • Puncture resistant tread and sidewall
  • Steel belted for extra protection
  • Less downtime on site

Grip on every surface

Grip on every surface

From mud to tarmac, an excavator constantly changes surface. Self-cleaning patterns hold grip in clay yet still roll calmly on the road between two jobs.

That keeps the machine agile and safe, whatever the terrain.

  • Self-cleaning patterns in mud
  • Calm road behaviour on tarmac
  • Reliable grip on changing terrain

High PR and load capacity

An excavator with attachments and a full bucket demands a high PR rating and ample load capacity. Our sizes are matched to heavy machines, so you can work at full capacity without concern.

Available in several sizes, from stock, so you can get back to work quickly.

Knowledge

What to look for in an excavator tyre

For a wheeled excavator the choice begins with the PR rating and load capacity. A machine with attachments and a full bucket at reach demands a high ply rating so the tyre absorbs the lateral and vertical forces without deforming. Choose load capacity generously, because peak loads rise sharply during slewing in particular.

Puncture resistance is often decisive on site. Rubble, steel and sharp material cause cuts and penetration. A tyre with a strong, cut resistant tread and a steel belted construction withstands this better and limits downtime. Every flat avoided is half a day gained in the planning.

The pattern determines the balance between grip and road behaviour. Self-cleaning patterns hold grip in mud and clay, while a calmer tread rides more comfortably on the road between two jobs. Because an excavator often changes surface, a pattern that combines both is usually the smartest choice.

Finally, consider whether you take the tyre on its own or as a complete tyre and wheel set. A ready-made wheel set to specification saves fitting time and prevents fit problems. Our specialists will help you with size, PR and fitment so your excavator can get back to work quickly and safely.

Maintenance extends service life here too. Keep the tyre pressure up, because low pressure causes heat build-up and flex damage in the sidewall. Inspect the tyres after a heavy job for cuts and remove embedded steel or stone chippings before they penetrate further. That stops small damage growing into a flat at an inconvenient moment.

Also treat the rim and the air pressure as one unit. A damaged or bent rim puts permanent stress on the tyre bead and leads to slow pressure loss, which easily goes unnoticed on site. Check the condition of rim and valve at every tyre change, because more failures start there than many businesses expect. On request we therefore supply the complete wheel, so tyre and rim are matched.

Frequently asked questions

Wheeled Excavator Tyres, answered briefly

Which tyre suits my wheeled excavator?+
That depends on the machine weight with attachments, the required PR rating, the size and the ground you work on. Enter your current size or machine type in the tyre finder and our specialists will determine the right tyre.
How do I prevent flat tyres on site?+
Choose a tyre with a puncture resistant tread and a strong, steel belted sidewall. It withstands cuts from rubble and steel better and so limits downtime. Our Delcora and Bandenmarkt tyres are built specifically for this.
What does the PR rating mean?+
PR stands for ply rating and indicates the strength and load capacity of the tyre. Heavy excavators with attachments demand a high PR so the tyre carries the load safely without deforming.
Are excavator tyres available from stock?+
The common sizes are held in stock and delivered quickly across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, so downtime on site stays limited. Special sizes are agreed in advance.
Do you also supply complete wheels for excavators?+
Yes, we supply individual tyres and complete tyre and wheel sets built to specification, for fast and reliable fitting.
Do excavator tyres also ride comfortably on the road?+
Yes. Our excavator tyres are designed to combine grip on site with calm road behaviour between two jobs. A pattern with self-cleaning properties and a balanced tread means you drive safely and comfortably both in clay and on tarmac.
